Melissa is the Project Manager and a Researcher on the Global Lens and Exploring International Mindedness Projects and serves as the Documentation Lead across ID/Global Projects. Melissa co-managed the World in Portland Project and, previously, worked on the Making Learning Visible Project--a long term collaboration with educators from Reggio Emilia, Italy about the complementary practices of group learning and documentation. Melissa has collaborated with hundreds of educators, domestically and abroad, exploring ways to use documentation as a tool for research and making learning and teaching a more visible, collaborative, and democratic process. Melissa helped to establish and serves as an advisor to the Documentation Studio at Wheelock College— the first venue in the U.S. dedicated to the study and practice of documentation as a pedagogical tool for preschool to post-secondary educators.
